It is a proud time for Midwest Tae Kwon Do as our own Gianni Corsi (pictured, far right) was selected by U.S. Olympic coaching directors, Paul Green and Gareth Brown to train with them in Manchester, Great Britain. His training in Manchester began on August 25 and will continue for an extended period of time. Gianni will also tour with the coaches to compete in up to four large world level open tournaments. The first of these tournaments, the Polish Open, took place this weekend in Warsaw, Poland. Gianni is returning home after the Polish open to compete in the Pan Am region President's Cup in Las Vegas. After the President’s Cup he will head right back to Manchester to train for a few more weeks, capping off the training with tournaments in Greece, Croatia, and Paris. This is a phenomenal opportunity for this young fighter.

So far in his very short career, Gianni has competed in junior black belt competition (age 15-17), where he won a silver and bronze medal at Nationals, a gold medal at the President's Cup in Las Vegas, a silver at the Junior Pan Am Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica, and finished as the National Team alternate two years in a row. As a senior black belt (age 17-32), Gianni finished with a silver medal at Nationals two years in a row.

Midwest TKD is very proud of this young fighter and all that he is doing. Keep up the hard work, young man!
